Adam Leger is a new Country recording artist out of Acadia Parish, Louisiana, playing a variety of genres at live shows including Cajun, Zydeco, Rock, and Country. He started playing accordion at the age of 14 and played local traditional Cajun jam sessions throughout high school, carrying on the musical family tradition of his great uncle Belton Richard and his father Shane Leger. Adam began writing country songs at the age of 6 and though he played strictly Cajun music until the age of 18, he grew up listening to country music arists such as Alan Jackson, George Strait, Travis Tritt, Tracy Lawrence, Tim McGraw, and Brooks and Dunn. At the age of 17 he learned to play guitar and at the age of 21 began singing. At first, he sang only traditional Cajun French songs for family, and at local jam sessions. Soon, he was encouraged by family and friends to sing country and rock songs due to his unique vocals and his ability to play just about anything on guitar. He began singing at bonfires and eventually sought out band members to try to form a variety band which played all of the genres that are popular in south Louisiana. He started a band at age 23 while working as an EMT. After his first gig, with a three piece band playing at a barn in Cow Island Louisiana, he began getting invites and calls to play at local bars. He then began recording with Rick Lagneaux and playing local clubs, and events around Louisiana. Live shows include a mix of country ballads, rockin’ country songs, zydecajun, and classic rock. His band Adam Leger & CajunCountry was founded in 2020.
