Bryan Martin - "Oilfield Dad"
Bryan Martin has worked in the Oilfield for several years so this song is more than just lyrics to him, it is his life. “I was working derricks on H&P Rig 252 and was on day 11 of a 14 day hitch. We were running cement and I was down on the pits watching for returns when I started thinking of how much I missed my kids and wife.” Those feelings started eating away at Martin and that was the seed that turned into “Oilfield Dad.”
Vidalia - "Louisianne"
"Louisianne" is a song that has been adopted as sort of a state anthem by many country music fans. No matter where you go you are likely to hear the lyrics of this song blaring through a set of speakers. Bryan Martin - "Blending Memories and Whiskey"
Bryan Martin's "Blending Memories and Whiskey" is a real treat for fans of traditional country music. Martin says he just set out to write a song that represents what country music means to him. Like many of us, when Martin hears someone mention country music he automatically thinks of Haggard, Jones, Lefty, and many other of the legends of the past. He jokes that growing up he would sing along to "Chiseled In Stone" and his dad would say "son, you ain't no Vern." Martin says he took that hard for a while, but later realized that he had to be himself as an artist. Although he will always be influenced by the legends, Martin has found a sound that is his own.
