Bryan Martin's "Blending Memories and Whiskey" is a real treat for fans of traditional country music. Martin says he just set out to write a song that represents what country music means to him. Like many of us, when Martin hears someone mention country music he automatically thinks of Haggard, Jones, Lefty, and many other of the legends of the past. He jokes that growing up he would sing along to "Chiseled In Stone" and his dad would say "son, you ain't no Vern." Martin says he took that hard for a while, but later realized that he had to be himself as an artist. Although he will always be influenced by the legends, Martin has found a sound that is his own.
