Born and raised in Minden, LA, Jared grew up listening to the immortal country icons - Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, George Jones, etc., and added the modern day flare of some of today's best country artists, such as Dierks Bentley, Josh Thompson, Eric Church, Blackberry Smoke, Randy Montana, and Keith Urban.
Being a third generation fire fighter, preceded by his grandfather and father, Mourad has experienced what most musicians have not. At 16 years old, Jared became a volunteer firefighter for the Minden Fire Department. This eventually spanned into a career, as Jared has been a Shreveport Firefighter for seven years. "Being a firefighter, you see everything that life has to offer. You see happiness, you see survival, yet you see extreme sadness and death. Seeing the things I've seen drives me to write songs about things I've experienced. It may not stem from my day job, but it sure as hell stemmed from my life. When it comes to writing, I write about stuff I've been through. I think that's what songwriting should be about - being able to capture a moment, an emotion, or a way of life, and express it through a song in a way that people can feel from it, but most importantly, something they can relate to."
